John Campbell banned for four years for anti-doping rule violation
West Indian batter John Campbell has been given a four-year suspension for anti-doping rule violation, according to a decision by the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO), seen by Reuters.
Friday’s 18-page decision by a three-member independent panel followed charges of evasion, refusal or failure to submit to sample collection.
JADCO accused Campbell of refusing to provide a blood sample at his home in Kingston in April.
“The panel is satisfied to a comfortable degree of satisfaction that the athlete has committed an anti-doping rule violation, namely violation of JADCO Rule 2.3,” the decision read in part. “The panel makes no determination based on the evidence presented that the athlete’s anti-doping violation was unintentional.
